Keep It Clean, Queen
✨ The Do’s & Don’ts of Keeping Your Piercing Poppin’ ✨
✅ Do’s (Because We Care, Not ‘Cause We’re Bossy)
-
Clean your new bling twice a day with some fresh gauze or a clean Q-tip/cotton bud — like, be gentle, not a wrecking ball.
-
Stick to saline solution or warm water — keep it chill, not chemical warfare.
-
Try not to catch your piercing on everything (yes, your scarf, your hair, your pet’s tail) — that drama causes irritation.
-

❌ Don’ts (Trust Us, Just Don’t)
-
No harsh stuff, okay? TCP, Dettol, Tea Tree Oil — your piercing is not a biology experiment.
-
Don’t swap your jewelry before the healing fairy says it’s cool.
-
Hands off the piercing unless you’re cleaning — no playing, pulling, or poking!
-
Hold off on swimming in lakes, pools, oceans, or the office fish tank for at least 4–6 months — germs love that scene.
🤕 Common Drama & How to Fix It
Piercing Bumps (Irritation):
Usually caused by catching or makeup invading the party.
→ Grab some lukewarm water (kettle level, not boiling lava), cotton pad or Q-tip, and gently massage the bump. It’ll either chill out or push the drama out.
Infection (Yellow/green goo or lingering blood):
Bacteria trying to crash your party.
→ Clean twice daily with saline, front and back if needed. If it’s still rude after a couple of weeks, ping us on Facebook or see your doc.
Allergies (Red, itchy rash):
Probably nickel doing a sneaky sabotage.
→ Swap to nickel-free jewelry like titanium — your skin will thank you.
💋 Piercing-Specific TLC
Mouth Piercings:
-
Rinse with non-alcohol mouthwash or saline twice daily.
-
Always rinse after eating, drinking, or puffing (smoking, duh).
-
Just like your teeth, your piercing can get plaque — so keep it clean.
Belly Piercings:
-
Avoid waistbands that act like bodyguards squeezing your piercing — go high-rise or low-rise instead.
-
Steer clear of lotions, tanning stuff, and glitter bombs near the area.
Nipples:
-
Heads up: they can get extra sensitive during your period. Be gentle, queen.
